Terms of use

These terms cover the website and the parent-guided app. They also state the limits of a single reading sample.

Agreement

By using Fluency Lens, you agree to these terms. If you do not agree, do not use the service. The service is offered by Openverse for adult parents and guardians.

Parent-directed use

An adult must operate profiles, checks, scoring review, purchases, exports, and deletion. Use a nickname rather than a full legal name and do not enter unnecessary identifying information.

Educational limits

The service helps a parent record one oral reading sample and plan practice. It does not diagnose dyslexia or another condition, determine official grade placement, replace a teacher or qualified evaluator, or guarantee improvement. Results depend on the selected passage, environment, timing, and marks confirmed by the adult.

Your responsibilities

Content and license

We grant a limited, personal, nonexclusive, nontransferable license to use the app and website for family educational support. Passages, design, software, and documentation remain owned by us or their licensors. You may use exported family reports for personal educational coordination.

Subscriptions

Family subscription options are planned at $14.99 monthly and $99.99 annually in the United States. The App Store displays the final localized price and applicable terms. No weekly plan is offered and no free trial is promised. Subscriptions renew automatically unless canceled through Apple at least as required by Apple before renewal.

Paid access may support up to four child profiles, ongoing checks, practice, history, and reports. On lapse, existing records remain readable, subject to the app version and local device storage.

Availability and changes

Features, passages, pricing, and availability may change. We may suspend access to protect users, comply with law, or maintain service integrity. We do not promise uninterrupted or error-free operation.

Disclaimers

To the extent permitted by law, the service is provided as available without warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, or noninfringement. Some jurisdictions do not allow certain warranty exclusions.

Limitation of liability

To the extent permitted by law, Openverse is not liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, or for lost data, educational outcomes, or decisions based on a reading sample. Applicable law may give you rights that cannot be limited by these terms.

Apple terms

For an iOS download, Apple is not responsible for the app or its support. Apple and its subsidiaries are third-party beneficiaries of these terms where required by the App Store terms. Apple handles payment and refund requests under its policies.
